Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 16, 2026
Hollywood Tortas wants everyone to be able to use our website and order from our truck. This page describes where we stand and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.
What we've done
The website at hollywoodtortas.com was built with accessibility in mind, including:
- Semantic HTML structure with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and empty alt text on decorative ones
- A "skip to menu" link for keyboard and screen reader users
- Full keyboard operability, including the navigation menu and the FAQ accordions
- Text and background colors chosen to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios for body text
- Labelled landmarks and an accessible name on the mobile navigation button
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting — animations are disabled if you've asked your device to reduce motion - Responsive layout that works down to small screens and supports browser zoom without loss of content
Target standard
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We believe the site substantially conforms, but it has not been independently audited and we don't claim full conformance.
Known limitations
- Embedded map. The Find Us section uses an embedded Google Map, which we don't control. Its accessibility is Google's. The full street address is written out as text directly beside it, and a text "Get directions" link is provided, so no information is only available inside the map.
- Scrolling banner. The decorative ticker at the top of the page animates. It is marked as decorative and hidden from screen readers, and it stops if you have reduced motion enabled. It contains no information that isn't stated elsewhere on the page in plain text.
- Instagram. Ordering and catering enquiries currently go through Instagram, a third-party platform whose accessibility we don't control. If Instagram isn't usable for you, you're welcome to order in person at the truck.
The truck itself
Hollywood Tortas is a food truck parked in an outdoor lot at 12807 Sherman Way. Service is at a walk-up window. Ground conditions and lighting vary by night and are not fully within our control. If you need assistance ordering, please come to the window or send someone in your party — we're happy to help however we can.
Tell us about a problem
If you hit a barrier on this site or at the truck, we want to hear about it. Message us on Instagram at @hollywood_tortas and tell us what happened, what page you were on, and what device or assistive technology you were using. We'll do our best to fix it and to give you the information you needed another way in the meantime.
